Asia University is ranked #223 in the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Universities in Asia.

The rankings reflect AU's outstanding performance in "Artificial Intelligence" and "Green and Sustainable Science and Technology," where it leads in Taiwan. The rankings further distinguish AU's positions in various disciplines, with specific mentions in the "Green and Sustainable Science and Technology" subject at 71st globally, "Artificial Intelligence" at 115th, "Electrical and Electronic Engineering" at 118th, "Computer Science" at 219th, "Environment/Ecology" at 442nd, "Clinical Medicine" at 640th, and "Biology and Biochemistry" at 664th.

In the broader context of Asian universities, AU stands out with notable achievements. Among the 1,131 universities evaluated in Asia, AU ranks 223rd overall, 6th in Taiwan, 2nd among private universities in Taiwan, and 1st among non-medical private universities.

Dr. Chang-Hai Tsai, Chairman of the Central Asia University Alliance, encourages both universities to continue their international development and cultivate globally relevant talent. The rankings by U.S. News & World Report serve as significant global indicators. The performance of both universities in international rankings demonstrates global recognition of their educational achievements and leadership in various disciplines, with a goal of advancing to the ranks of top global institutions.

AU President Prof. Jeffrey Tsai emphasized the university's commitment to academic excellence and alignment with international trends. Seven years ago, AU launched its AI research center and established the largest academic metaverse base in central Taiwan four years ago. Collaborations with prestigious institutions such as Harvard and MIT on AI in healthcare projects, as well as the establishment of the AMD Logic and Computing Laboratory with equipment donated by AMD, have contributed to AU's notable performance in the global AI field. AU’s efforts to integrate with leading industries and its continued push towards sustainability in education have further enhanced its overall rankings.

Dr. Mei-Ching Yin, AU Chief R&D Officer, noted that 19 AU scholars were recognized as among the top 2% of global scientists by Stanford University this year, with nearly 10 of them specializing in AI within AU's Computer Science department. AU continues to promote AI-related courses and has established an "AI Elite Program" since 2019. Students have won over 100 awards in national competitions. AU’s strong faculty, excellent academic performance, and collaborations with top industries are driving its advancement towards becoming a "Green University" and sustaining high rankings across various disciplines.
