The UK Times Higher Education (THE) magazine published the 2020 University Rankings in Asia recently, in which Asia University (AU) entered the list of top-300 universities. AU is ranked No. 146 in Asia, No. 10 in Taiwan, and No. 3 of private universities in Taiwan. Moving up by 69 places in the list this year, AU is the university with the greatest improvement in Taiwan.

The 2020 Asia University Rankings include 489 universities from 30 countries and regions across Asia, in which 19 Taiwan universities enter the top 300 universities. Since 2014, AU has entered the list of best universities by THE World University Rankings, the QS World University Rankings, and the U.S. News & World Reports. “AU is now one of the few private Taiwan universities to enter these rankings, and we are proud to be part of it,” said Prof. Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, the President of AU.

President Tsai mentioned that AU Hospital was founded three years ago to provide medical care and service to the people in the local communities. Moreover, AU also established several research centers, such as Precision Medical Center and AI Research Center, working with the China Medical University Hospital, to drive innovative researches on clinical medicine and life science. In the field of preventive medication and health management, AU is ranked the 461th position and moves to the top 500 list in THE World University Rankings.

In term of international mobility, Prof. Yinghuei Chen, Dean of International College at AU, stated that a total of 1,056 international students from 28 countries were attracted to study at AU last year. Nearly 1,000 AU students also actively participated in international exchange, internships and volunteer programs. In the next year, more than 340 AU students will be offered the opportunities to study abroad with financial support from MOE and AU. This will definitely enrich their global experiences and strengthen their international competitive capability in the future.
