Vietnamese FPT University Delegation Visits Asia University
Hundreds of Students Experience AI Creative Applications at Asia University

Asia University and Vietnam’s FPT University have begun close collaboration this year. Following the signing of agreements for joint talent cultivation programs in Semiconductor Design, Smart Manufacturing, and an AI cooperation memorandum, over a hundred students visited Asia University from October 16 to 18. They participated in group experiences at the Semiconductor Center, AI Workshop, AI & Quantum Center, and Virtual Studio to explore the university’s diverse AI creative applications.
Led by FPT representatives including Jimmy Ngoc Le, the delegation mainly comprised students from semiconductor-related programs. On the morning of October 17, they visited Taiwan’s leading semiconductor packaging and testing company, SPIL, to learn about Taiwan’s semiconductor technology. Besides being impressed by the production processes, the students were particularly intrigued by convenience stores, and their favorite snack was tea eggs — something unavailable in Vietnam.
In the afternoon, the FPT delegation returned to Wufeng to quickly explore Asia University’s facilities, including the affiliated hospital and the Modern Art Museum. Students were impressed and commented, “The learning environment here is fantastic!” President Jin-Fa Tsai and faculty welcomed the Vietnamese visitors. Many students proactively shared their interest in AI-related programs, and President Tsai encouraged them, saying, “AI good!” and invited them to consider studying at Asia University.
During his welcome speech, President Tsai expressed delight at the multiple close exchanges with FPT University in less than a year, reflecting a strong cooperative foundation between the two schools. Vietnamese students at Asia University have performed exceptionally well. Expanding partnerships across semiconductor, computer science, business, finance, and AI programs marks a new milestone for joint talent development. Moving forward, exchanges will include student mobility, faculty interactions, co-designed courses, and joint research, aiming to cultivate professionals with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills aligned with current AI trends.
President Tsai emphasized FPT University’s leadership in Southeast Asia’s IT education sector and Asia University’s support in facilities, faculty, and curricula. He hopes more FPT students will visit Asia University while creating opportunities for Asia University students to study abroad, intern, and participate in international research.
Due to the large number of visiting Vietnamese students, activities were conducted in groups to rotate through the Semiconductor Center, AI Workshop, Virtual Studio, and AI & Quantum Center. Students were fascinated by the diamond-cut wafer displays in the Semiconductor Center and wearing full cleanroom suits to enter the cleanroom. In the Virtual Studio, they enjoyed experiences like riding a virtual roller coaster and climbing skyscrapers. They also tried rehabilitation devices for lower-body paralysis, controlling games with their hands, which was a fun and engaging experience for all.
In the evening, a welcome dinner was held outside the College of Management. With the cool autumn breeze, the atmosphere was pleasant and cheerful. The Aboriginal Dance Club performed a welcoming dance, and Vietnamese students joined in, showcasing youthful enthusiasm and bridging cultural differences, strengthening close exchanges between the two universities.
